The Primary Arms SLx RS-10 is Packed with Features and Low on Price

One of the benefits of a product rising in popularity is that the price tends to come down. Such is the case with red dot optics in recent years. For years, optics were priced out of most average shooters’ reach. However, recently we have begun to see a bit of a drop in the average price, making them more accessible. At only $199.99, the SLx RS-10 from Primary Arms is a perfect example of this trend.

The Primary Arms SLx RS-10

Constructed of 7075 aluminum, the SLx RS-10 is rugged enough to hold up to demanding and rigorous courses of fire. Likewise, it features a hardcoat anodized finish for increased toughness. As the first Primary Arms optic designed entirely in-house, each SLx optic undergoes rigorous field-testing to ensure optimal performance.

The lightweight mini reflex sight weighs a meager 1.07 ounces, adding little to your pistol’s overall weight and balance. Similarly, it uses the common Docter/Noblex footprint for quick easy mounting to many different pistol platforms. However, it also includes a low-profile Picatinny rail mount and a low-profile adapter plate for Glock MOS system.

The multi-coated lenses house the true daylight bright 3 MOA reticle. Correspondingly, Side buttons allow you to adjust the brightness down to night vision compatible levels. Running on a single CR2032 battery, the SLx RS-10 provides 40,000 hours of battery life. Similarly, Autolive motion activation turns the reticle on after it shuts off to preserve battery life.

The side-loading battery compartment allows for a battery change without having to remove the optic. As a result, you can change the battery without affecting zero. However, it is still a good idea to check zero occasionally, and after each battery replacement is a good time to do so.

“With the SLx RS-10, we’ve developed a tough-as-nails, pistol-ready optic that doesn’t break the bank,” says Stephen Morgan, Director of Product Marketing at Primary Arms Optics. “It incorporates many of the outstanding quality of life features of premium pistol optics while also maintaining our commitment to reliability and value.”
